Perhaps the best way to introduce Salpicon foods is to start explaining “where the heck does the name ‘Salpicon‘ come from? (a question we have been asked quite a few times…)

Well: this is what the Dictionary says:

However, we might as well have named our company “From Scratch”, because that is what we do: cook our products with the freshest local ingredients from scratch, and take our time when only time will (further) develop the tastes we are after.

 

‘No Short Cuts’ could also have been a suitable company name; we choose not to use binders or fillers, stock powders, flavour enhancers or other artificial things in our products.  This supports our belief that the pure clean taste sensations we appreciate so much can only be achieved through this approach.
